Sharpe, this piece is a short, majestic fanfare for 8 trombones (6 tenors, 2 basses) split into two quartets. Fanfare for Doc was commissioned by Dr. Justin Cook and the Oklahoma University Trombone Choir in honor of Dr. Irv Wagner, long-time Professor of Trombone at OU and known to his students as “Doc.”
